How we think about furnishing an apartment in Skypark.

In our post from Skypark, we show an apartment that already had a couch, dining table, chairs and a bed. However, the mattress and other elements needed to complete the space were missing. Therefore, the beginning was not the purchase of everything anew, but an overview of what can be preserved.

Check first, buy later

In the described apartment, we added a carpet, a shelf, books, a TV and a mirror. The existing curtains remained. This procedure illustrates a simple principle: good preparation can be based on equipment that is already in the apartment.

We advise the owner to divide the inventory into three groups: functional things that remain; missing necessities; and accessories that can wait. In this way, the budget is more easily linked to a specific purpose.

The budget should serve the stay

Before decorating, decide on sleeping, lighting, storage space and practical use of the apartment. Each additional item also means cleaning, maintenance or future replacement. Fewer things can leave the guest more room for their own luggage.

Ideas to apply to your own apartment

  • Take inventory and photos of existing condition before purchasing.
  • Set a budget for missing equipment and separately for accessories.
  • Check dimensions, materials and ease of maintenance.
  • Once completed, please update both the photos and the equipment list in the menu.

Specifically, purchases in one apartment are not a universal equipment budget. The extent of the preparation always depends on the initial state. You can see the real progress from Skypark in our reels below.
